Our favorite museums:
Surfing, Windsurfing and Kite Surfing:
Pembrokeshires beaches are just perfect for kayaking, sailing, windsurfing
and even scuba diving. Look at a map of the UK and and you’ll be able to appreciate
why our surf here can be so good. Big waves to need strong winds to drive them,
the greater the distance a wave travels across the ocean the bigger the waves.
Some of Pembrokeshire’s best surfing beaches include Freshwater West but be aware
here of cross currents and undertows, Newgale, Manorbier, Newport, Broad Haven
and Tenby South. You can even take surf boards and bicycles on a new
bus service to Freshwater West from Pembroke and surrounding villages
like Bosherston or Stackpole.
Thousand Islands Expeditions:
Go on a 'Wildlife Adventure Boat Trips' to experience the beautiful
scenery and wildlife of our unspoilt island wilderness. You'll pass by caves,
and bays, see magnificent high cliffs with nesting seabirds. Keep an eye out for
Atlantic Grey Seals, Harbour Porpoise, Whales and Dolphins.
All of the trips depart from St. Justinians Lifeboat Station which is
located just outside St. David's.
Birdwatching:
Pembrokeshire is birdwatchers paradise and every season has its
highlights from Swallows, Warblers, and many of the sea-birds in the
spring to seabird colonies in the summer and Slavion Greebs, Great Northern
Divers and Merlins in the winter. Make sure to take advantage this whilst you're here.
Several operators provide tours with places like Ramsey island providing your best
bird spotting!
Oakwood Theme Park:
Attracting nearly half a million visitors every year. The park
incorporates 5 large thrill rides: The 85ft-tall wooden roller
coaster "Megafobia" which has been rated among the best in Europe,
Vertigo, The Bounce, Hydro and Speed a roller coaster with a 97-degree
drop. This ride has the steepest drop in the UK and is the tallest of
its type in the world.
Outdoor activites:
Whatever you're into from cycling to climbing, from canoeing to kayaking,
windsurfing or scuba diving, sailing or surfing. You'll find some of the best outdoor
Leisure Centres in Europe here in Pembrokeshire. And fear not if
you don't have any experience, then you'll find plenty of enthusiastic,
qualified instructors who are glad to share their
